Obituary of Anthony D. Bartolomeo

November 2, 1943 ~ July 18, 2026

Anthony D. “Tony” Bartolomeo, 82, of Brookhaven, PA, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

Tony was a proud graduate of Bishop Neumann High School in Philadelphia. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1966. He was also an associate member of the Marine Corps League, Tun Tavern Detachment #288, and a devoted parishioner of the Church of Our Lady of Charity in Brookhaven.

Following his military service, Tony dedicated 30 years of service to the Defense Logistics Agency, where he worked as a Travel Claims Examiner at the Quartermaster Building in Philadelphia until his retirement in 1995.

Tony found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved gardening, crafting, and cooking, but nothing brought him greater happiness than decorating for Christmas, his favorite time of year. He also enjoyed music and traveling, always embracing opportunities to explore new places and create lasting memories.

Above all, Tony will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor and his ability to brighten every room he entered. He loved entertaining family and friends, sharing jokes and funny stories that had everyone laughing. Whether it was a clever one-liner, a favorite story, or simply his playful personality, Tony had a special gift for making people smile. His laughter was contagious, his warmth was genuine, and the memories he created with those he loved will be treasured forever.

Tony was the beloved son of the late James and Rita (Marandola) Bartolomeo and the cherished stepson of the late John Corado. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Bartolomeo Jr.; his nephew, Anthony J. Marcello; and his devoted lifelong best friend, James E. Skelley.

He is survived by his sisters, Loretta Marcello and Rita (Thomas) Stepsis 

Sister-in-law: Deborah Bartolomeo, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Thursday, July 30, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of Charity, 231 Upland Road, Brookhaven, PA 19015.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of Charity. Interment will follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

Though he will be deeply missed, Tony’s laughter, stories, and the joy he brought to those around him will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
