Obituary of Mae Ellen Cuniff

Mae (Boone) Cuniff, 84, of the Garden City section of Wallingford, passed away peacefully at home on June 18, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Pocahontas, Virginia, Mae made Wallingford her home for the past 55 years. She was a proud graduate of Pocahontas High School, Class of 1958.

Mae worked as an Accounting Clerk for Wells Fargo until her retirement in 2007. Earlier in her career, she was employed by NationsCredit and Westinghouse.

Family was at the center of Mae’s life. She was a devoted wife, mother, mommom, nana, sister, and friend who treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren, camping at King Nummy down the shore, playing Words with Friends, and making memories with her cherished “Golden Girls.”

A woman of deep faith, Mae found strength, comfort, and guidance in God’s word throughout her life.

Mae was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Jack Cuniff, and by her parents, Carl and Lena Boone.

She is survived by her daughters, Tina (Vinnie) Pro and Patty (Tom Gilpin) Cuniff; her grandchildren, Vinny (Rachel) Pro, Jenna Gilpin, Alayna Pro, and Lacie Gilpin; and her great-granddaughter, Nova Kirby-Pro.

Mae is also survived by her siblings, Gayle (James) Tomberlin, Carl (Diana) Boone, Rita (Butch) Belcher, J.D. (Shirley) Boone, JoAnn (the late Raymond) Poszich, and Guy (Jamie) Boone, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Mae’s kindness, faith, and devotion to her family will be remembered always and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation: Friday, June 26th after 10:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Friday, June 26th at 11:00AM at the funeral home.

Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
