Obituary of Jennie L. Cramer

Jennie Cramer (Lawruk), 96, of Wallingford PA passed away peacefully in her sleep June 24, 2025 at ACTS Granite Farms, Media, PA. 

Born May 8, 1929 in Altoona Pennsylvania, Jennie to the late Anthony and Magdaline (Gurney) Lawruk, she was one of nine children growing up on a small farm.  Jennie was married to her beloved husband, Ted Cramer, for 57 years until his passing.  A devoted homemaker and dedicated educator, Jennie served over 25 years as a teacher’s assistant with the Delaware County Intermediate Unit in the Ridley School District.  

Jennie was a Member of the St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Chester, PA since 1962.  She was deeply involved in her children’s activities, especially Cub Scouts and Webelos.  Through her and Ted’s encouragement her sons and grandsons earned the rank of Eagle Scout, a testament to her family’s values of service, leadership and perseverance. 

Jennie and Ted were inseparable, enjoying polka and square dancing with friends.  They were enthusiastic participants in many community activities throughout Delaware County and the region.  Jennie was an expert crocheter and an accomplished bowler who also seemed to win at BINGO more often than not.  Later in life, Jennie loved spending time with her grandchildren and their dogs.  She enjoyed many summers at the Wallingford Swim and Racket Club, Ocean City, NJ and visits with friends and family in Altoona, PA and throughout Pennsylvania. 

Jennie is survived by her sons Joseph (Julie) and Daniel (Tammy) Cramer; grandchildren Andy (JoJo), Dyanna, Jackson and John Cramer; and siblings Morey and Olga.  She was preceded in death by brothers Joe, Walter, Adam, Donald and Raymond, and her sister Alice. 

A funeral service to honor her life will be held Saturday, July 19 at 10 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Wilmington, Delaware. 

Visitation: Saturday, July 19th after 10:00AM at the Saints Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1406 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809.

Funeral Service: Saturday, July 19th at 11:00AM at the church.

Interment: Lawn Croft Cemetery.
