Obituary of Franklin D. Helton

Franklin D. Helton “Frank,” age 85, of Boothwyn, PA, formerly of Ohio, died on Monday, June 9, 2025.

Frank attended Alger High School in Ohio. After high school, he went on to play Minor League baseball where he was drafted to the New York Yankees. A dedicated, self-taught mason, working for Local Union #1, he crafted his life’s work with quiet strength and left behind a legacy set in stone and in the hearts of those he served.

When he wasn’t laying brick and stone, he found joy behind the wheel—an avid race car enthusiast whose passion for speed and precision mirrored the dedication he brought to his craft. He enjoyed watching the horse races on TV and attending them at Delaware Park. Frank had many hobbies over the years. Beyond his work, he cherished time with his grandson, Tyler, especially their peaceful days fishing and crabbing together—a bond strengthened by salt air and shared stories.

Son of the late Charles and Ivory Gibson Helton; Grandfather of the late Katelyn Helton; Predeceased by his six brothers and sisters.
