Obituary of Rosemarie Spangler

It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Rosemarie Spangler on Saturday, April 19, 2025. Following an unexpected and brief illness, she passed away peacefully at the age of 94 embraced by her family at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media, PA. As an only child, she was preceded in death by her father, Walter Semdy and mother, Mary Semdy of Bradenton, Florida.

Rosemarie was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Olney High School. She attended Pierce Business School and became an administrative assistant for the insurance industry. Her love of dancing lead to meeting her husband of 72 years, Lloyd Spangler. She was a wonderful homemaker that took great pride in meticulously decorating her homes recognized by publications and home tours.

She thoroughly enjoyed the New Jersey shore spending many of her early summers there with life-long friends lovingly called the Jersey Group and then, many years of boating on the Chesapeake Bay with her family and friends. Later in life, she and husband Lloyd traveled the world and happily enjoyed nearly 18 years together at Lima Estates, a continuing care community in Media, PA, where she was engaged in many activities and continued her love of dancing and exercise.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd W. Spangler, Jr. of Media, PA; daughter, Leeann Spangler and her spouse Joanne Smith of Vadnais Heights, MN; son, Craig Spangler and his spouse Mimi Spangler of Rose Valley, PA; and grandchildren, Andrew Spangler of Manhattan, New York, NY and Sarah Spangler, of North Bethesda, MD.

A private memorial service and interment is being held with her close family.
