Obituary of Myrtie E. Castaldi
Myrtie E. (Hunt) Castaldi “Betty” age 99, of Brookhaven, PA, formerly of Chester, PA, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Betty was born on July 5, 1925 in Sylvester, Georgia. Daughter of the late Gardner and Mary Alice (Souter) Hunt; Wife of the late Vito A. Castaldi; Sister of the late Annette Bowen, Elton Hunt, Lloyd Hunt, Milton Hunt, Howard Hunt, Grady Hunt and James Troy Hunt (JT). Our mom was extremely active most of her life. She enjoyed working in her garden, taking care of children, and solving jigsaw puzzels with her family. Betty's grandkids called her Mommom and she was always excited to take care of and spend time with them. Our mom spent many years babysitting, sharing her love and care with not only her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren but other family friends' children. Betty was very independent, leaving home after she met her husband, Vito, at a military base in Florida. After Vito's discharge, they returned to Chester to raise their family. Betty loved to travel, returning to Florida many times to visit her siblings, as well as Oregon and Texas. Most of all, our Mom was devoted to her family and she was also proud of her home and made it inviting for all visitors.
