Obituary of Ethel M. Tarbotton

Ethel Mae Tarbotton, Devoted and loving mother.

Ethel Tarbotton, 94 of Concordville, passed on to heaven on July 16 from her residence at Glen Mills Senior Living. Born in Abington, Pennsylvania, Ethel grew up in the Havertown area, then lived in her home on Concord Road for over 50 years.

Ethel was a devoted and loving mother, caring for her family and home for many years. She loved to read, sew, knit, walk at Longwood Gardens and spend time with family and friends. She served her community in various ways over the years, and was active at Needlework Guild Association helping make blankets, bibs and clothes for those in need.

She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in West Chester, serving in many children’s ministries such as Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Christian Character Club. She had a strong faith in God and always loved hymns, singing God’s praises to the end of her life.

She was the daughter of William and Lidie Hoerr. She was preceded in death by her children Ruth Ellen and Kenneth, husband Walter Tarbotton, sister Alice Wykes and brother Robert Hoerr.

Survivors: Daughters, Susan Osial of Portsmouth, RI; Lois Davey of Cochranville, PA; Joy (Mark) Bradford of Manassas Park, VA; Sons, John (Suzie) Tarbotton of Groton, NY; Thomas Tarbotton of Chattanooga, TN and Jay (Dawn) Tarbotton of Hudson, NH. Brother, William Hoerr of Ottsville, PA and sister Dorothy Hoerr of Isle of Palm, SC. 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Monday, August 1st from 10:00-10:45AM at the Bible Baptist Church, 1237 Paoli Pike, West Chester, PA 19380.

Funeral Service: Monday, August 1st at 11:00AM at the Bible Baptist Church.

Interment: Private.
