Obituary of James McKeone
James J. “Gym” McKeone, age 78, of Media, Middletown Twp., PA, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, died Friday, January 14, 2022. Born on April 4, 1943, he was the son of the late John and Helen (Favenger) McKeone.Gym left this world and left behind a void. You may have known Gym as an insurance agent. He worked for Prudential Insurance Company retiring in 1998. You may have known him as a sign language interpreter, the donut man, amateur magician, adept raffle ticket salesman, fledgling fireman, volunteer, friend, neighbor, brother, uncle, competitive shuffleboard player, encourager, or gardener. You may have known him as Santa Clause even!
If you did know him, you knew that he was always the first to extend a hand of welcome. Always ready with a hug. Truly dedicated to his family. Quick to lend a hand (or money) to anyone in need and always open to an adventure! Toni and I were fortunate to know him as husband and father. His love for life was exciting! His thrill for new adventures was infectious, and his joy in living was amazing. If you knew him, you were blessed. Gym had the ability to make you feel like you belonged. The road of life with Gym was not without its speed bumps and potholes but on the whole, it was smooth sailing and I for one am glad that I was on the ride. Goodbye handsome. Life with you has been “super-duper”.
Gym is survived by his loving wife and daughter Catherine Kester McKeone and Antoinette McKeone respectively, his sister Joan (Lenny deceased) Allen, brother Joseph (Christine) McKeone, nieces and nephews. Services will be held privately.
