Obituary of Kathleen Smith

Kathleen (Marella) Smith of Leesburg, FL, passed away on Saturday February 17, 2018 after a 2 year courageous battle with cancer.   She was 71 years young.   Born January 9, 1947 Kathleen grew up in Clifton Heights, PA.  The daughter of the late Dominic and Antoinette (Murgidi) Marella, she was a graduate of Clifton Heights High School, Class of ’64.   Receiving her nursing degree in ’97 from Delaware County Community College. 

Kathleen is survived by her life love, Clifford Wallace and her children Christine Henson (James), Jason Smith (Rochelle) her sister Linda Sniras (Robert), her neice Susan Scully (Roger) and Nephew Robert Sniras (Amy),  and the apples of her eye, her grandchildren; Luke, Sabrina and Paul.   She is predeceased by her sister, Toni Marella.                                                                                 
She served in many areas of nursing and was loved by her patients.  She retired 2 years ago as a Hospice Nurse, after her career as an office manager and paralegal.  A bright lady who did her crossword puzzles in pen.   

She kept her passion for dance alive (tap, jazz and hula) with lessons up to a month before her call home.    She served her community with volunteer efforts to include:  Sun Shine Lady for her village, Reach for Recovery Coordinator with The Cancer Society, The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program, and the Sheriff’s Department, to name a few.

Nicknamed “Agatha the Administer” by her family, she handled everything.   She was the backbone and matriarch to those she loved.   Known to friends as Kathy, Kind Hearted, Able, Tough, Happy and Young at Heart, she will be missed by all whose lives she touched. 

Visitation: Saturday, March 24th from 12:30-1:30PM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home Ltd., Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Memorial Service: Saturday, March 24th at 1:30PM at the funeral home.

Interment: Private.
