Obituary of Mary K. Hayes

Mary K. Hayes (Helwig), formerly of Glen Mills, passed away in the early hours of May 28, 2017 at Atria Willistown in Willistown, Pennsylvania.

Mary was born in Philadelphia on January 10, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Rosa (DeBold) and Rudolph Helwig. She was a graduate of Collingdale High School, Class of 1948 and remained an active alumni until her death. Mary worked as a settlement clerk at Delaware Valley Title Searchers until her retirement.

Mary had many hobbies which included shopping, baking, knitting, traveling and spending time at the beach. What brought her the most joy of all was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her lifelong friends. She will be forever remembered for her kindness, generosity and her natural ability to make people laugh. She was an active member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church.

Mary is survived by her brother, Charles Helwig (Lois); daughters, Faith L. Casciano (Barry) and Dawn H. Taylor (Phillip); grandchildren, Lindsey M. Casciano (David Yoder), Michael Hayes Casciano (Maggie), Mary Brooke Test (Alan), Morgan Elizabeth Taylor and Kyle Benjamin Hayes Taylor. She is also survived by her 3 great-granddaughters, Cora Rose, Juliette Elise and Scarlette Elizabeth.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Hayes and granddaughter, Devan Rebecca Taylor.

Funeral Service: Friday, June 2nd at 1:00PM at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, 535 Lamp Post Lane, Aston, PA 19014.

Visitation: Friday, June 2nd after 12:00PM at the church.

Interment: Edgewood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Mary to: St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, at the above address.
