Obituary of Jane Ann Mathues

Jane Ann Mathues, age 80, of Upper Providence Twp., Media, PA, peacefully passed away on Friday, Dec 2, 2016, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Mathues was born in Middletown Twp., Media, PA, to the late John and Ruth (Warburton) MacNeal on April 17, 1936. Jane Ann graduated from Media High School in 1954, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree from Elizabethtown College, in 1958. She was an exceptional athlete and earned numerous awards and scholarships. In Mrs. Mathues early career, she worked with Dr. R. Wallace Journey and Dr. Robert R. Morley, renowned physicians in Chester, PA. Jane Ann was the executive secretary to the president of the Melmark School for Children and Adults with Mental Disabilities in Berwyn, PA. Mrs. Mathues concluded her career with the appointment as the executive secretary to the president of the Williamson College of the Trades, Media, PA. Jane Ann and Craig Mathues are active members of The Blue Church, Springfield, PA. She proudly raised her children and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up through the years. Jane Ann will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Sister of the late Jack A. MacNeal, Jr. Survivors: Husband of 28 years: Craig Mathues, a life-long resident of Media, Pa. Interment: Private for the family, Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, PA.
