Obituary of Rose DiNicola

Rose DiNicola (nee Hulkewicz) 1926-2016 Rose entered her new life in Christ on September 11, 2016 at the age of 90. She was born in Woodlyn, PA, to Anna and Peter Hulkewicz. After graduating from Ridley High School in 1944, Rose went to work at Scott Paper Company. While working there, she joined a dance group called The Caperettes that performed in the Scott shows during WWII. Rose enjoyed dancing and being a part of family gatherings, but her greatest joy was being a wife and mother. In 1949, Rose married Arthur J. DiNicola and moved to Chester, PA where they reared their three sons. They moved once more to Aston, PA in 1975. As an empty-nester in later years, she returned to work as a teller for PNC Bank in Media, PA. She enjoyed her job as a teller and made many lasting friendships with fellow employees and customers. Rose was appreciated for her compassion, straight-forwardness and fun-loving nature. She enjoyed travel and visited the Holy Land, Europe, and many destinations in the United States. She was a member of the Aston Seniors. Rose was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Arthur, her cherished grandson Matthew, and her siblings Marie, Anthony, John, and Stanley. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Arthur (Patricia), Ronald (Myra), and Gary (Phyllis) as well as her grandchildren: Garrett, Amber (Joseph), Myra Katharine, Sarah and great-grandson Killian. Rose will also be missed by her extended family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, Sept. 21st, 2016 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Glen Mills, PA. Visitation: Wednesday, September 21st from 9:15 until 10:15 AM at the church. Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Memorial Donation may be made in her name to: St. Charles Borromeo Seminary or The American Heart Association.
